Add to the baby shower décor with napkins that look like a baby's shirt.
Carry your creative decorating for a baby shower right to the table by making the napkins look like baby's T-shirts. Folding a napkin is a fairly easy decorating technique, and the results look professional. Use pink or blue to embellish the napkin if you know the baby's gender; if you don't know, use generic yellows or greens. Using a colored napkin is an easy way to color coordinate. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Put a napkin on the table with the fold on the left and the open sides on the right. The top right corner is the open corner with no folds. Open the napkin out one fold to form a long, horizontal rectangle, which is one fold of the square napkin if it were opened up completely. The napkin should have the fold along the bottom edge and the top is open.
2. Fold the left side in to the center fold in the napkin. Crease the fold on the side. Secure the napkin with a small piece of double-sided tape along the center.
3. Fold the right side into the center, covering the edge of the left side of the napkin so only the right side edge shows. Crease the fold on the side. Secure the center piece with double-sided tape.
4. Fold the bottom of the napkin under about 1 inch and crease the fold to create a pocket.
5. Fold the top inside corners down to look like a collar; it leaves a triangle-shaped opening at the neckline.
6. Use double-sided tape to add embellishments, if desired. For example, use pink or blue lace or rickrack trim, buttons down the center or flowers to decorate the shirts. You also can place silverware for each guest inside the folded napkin.
