Candles are ideal items to include in a teacher gift basket.
A fine way to say thank you at the end of the school year is to make a teacher gift basket. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, just put in a lot of thought to create the most appropriate basket possible. You can make teacher gift baskets with some heartfelt gifts, a container and a few simple tips.
Instructions
1. Choose a container to house all the goodies. You can go with the traditional basket, but don’t forget about other containers that would add a little more pizzazz and be a tad more unique. You can choose a bright, ceramic bowl, wire bins used for holding corrected papers or
2. Pick at least five small but meaningful items. Be creative. Teachers are sick to death of coffee mugs that say “Number 1 Teacher” or other such cheesy items. Remember your teacher is a person, too. People like candles, sketch books or journals, the latest bestselling novel, fancy pens, a soothing CD, meditation books and other fun things that don’t necessarily say “Number 1 Teacher.”
3. Add one more item to your basket: an apple. Yes, this may be cliché, but it’s a very cute touch.
4. Line the container with tissue paper and add you items. You can wrap each item individually or leave them unwrapped. Prop them in the basket by balling up pieces of tissue paper to secure them in place. Use some tape if necessary to further anchor your items into a fine arrangement.
5. Wrap the gift basket with a colorful or really neat ribbon. This adds the finishing touch as well as further secures the items in place. If the ribbon is not sufficient, you can buy some cellophane at arts, crafts or floral supply stores to wrap around the basket before you add the ribbon.
6. Attach a card. It can be as simple as an index card that says “Thank you” and includes who the basket is from or you can pick out an appropriate thank you card at the card store or make your own. Making your own is always a hit. That way you get a truly personal touch.
