Make Your Own Flower String Lights

Flower lights are a beautiful and fun way to decorate your bedroom, bathroom, kitchen or yard. But store-bought flower lights can run pretty expensive. The good news is that they are moderately easy to make, and choosing to make your flower lights at home enables you to personalize the look.

Instructions

1. Detach all the faux flowers from their stems and vines. Set any whole leaf pieces aside. If there isn't a hole already, create a small hole at the base of each flower so a Christmas light will fit through. You can choose to either cut enough flowers to cover each light, or enough to cover every second or third light.

2. Put the cut flowers in a pile and stretch out the Christmas lights over a table or your lap. Holding one bulb at a time, carefully make two dots of hot glue on opposite sides of the bulb base. Take a flower and shove the bulb of the light through the hole at the bottom.

3. Clamp the flower base gently against the hot glue and hold for about 15 seconds. Repeat until all the flowers have been glued to the bulb bases, with the bulbs themselves emerging from the middle of the flowers. If you'd like to add some of the leaf pieces set aside earlier, hot glue them in between each flower on the light cord, using a very small amount of glue.
