Make your own children's cat costume.
When you make your own children's cat costume, they will have a costume that is different from the other kids'. While a cat costume is fairly common at Halloween, making your own for your child will help her to feel special. Allowing your child to assist you in making her cat costume gives you an opportunity to teach her new skills for the future.
Instructions
1. Cut two large triangles from the black construction paper. Fold a tab at the bottom. Glue them to the top of the black plastic headband. These are the cat's ears.
2. Cut a four-inch-wide and 12-inch-long strip from the black cotton material. Fold it over and sew up one end and the sides with your sewing machine. Leave one end open. Turn the tube right side out.
3. Add stuffing to the black tube you have just sewn. Then sew up the opening with your sewing machine. This is the cat's tail.
4. Pin the tail to the bottom of your child's black pants with a large safety pin.
5. Dress your child in the black pants, turtleneck, socks, shoes and gloves. Put the plastic hairband with the cat's ears on his head.
6. Draw whiskers on your child's cheeks with the black face paint. Draw a black circle on the end of her nose for a black cat's nose.
