Decorations
Set the scene of a glamorous Hollywood affair. Roll out a red carpet for guests to walk down so they feel special right from the start. Set formal tables for a feeling of elegance and class. String Christmas lights on the ceilings and walls, or hang them from planters and bushes. Decorate the main area with a megaphone or director's chair and hang an Hollywood sign. Create stars with your guests' names on them and tape them to the floor or walkways.
Attire
The invitations should ask your guests to dress up in formal attire as if they were attending a film premiere.
Food
For a formal dinner party, you can serve chicken, steak or fish. If the party is a buffet, stick to gourmet finger fingers; think caviar, petite fours and shrimp. Serve champagne (or sparkling cider). Keep a popcorn machine running so guests can grab a bag of freshly made popcorn.
Entertainment and Activities
