Word Birthday Invitations for a Five Year Old

Taking the time to word a child's birthday party invitations gives them a customized, personal look. Begin by choosing a theme for the party and follow by writing the text to coordinate with the theme. Custom invitations can be printed on your home printer or through a party or greeting card retail store. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Choose an exclamation word or phrase to place at the beginning of your invitation that is eye-catching, if appropriate for your theme. Examples are: "Surprise!;" "I'm Five!;" "You're Invited!;" "YeeHaw!;" and "Party Time!"

2. Create a short rhyme, quote or funny saying about the five-year-old and the birthday celebration. Be creative and cute and use the theme of the party as a guide. According to Party411.com, "Punctuation is not used at the ends of lines (commas, periods, colons, etc.)." Some examples:

For a princess party: "Finally five, the finest little princess / requests your presence for a grand affair / cake, balloons and celebration / she'd love to have you join her there!"

For a cowboy party: "YeeHaw! Strap on your boots for a little horseplay / Carter is celebrating his 5th birthday!"

For a pool party: "Jump and scream and splash and dive / it's a party at the pool because Katie's turning five!"

For a superhero party: "Calling all superheroes! / Chris is turning five and your powers will come alive / it's time to save the day and run around and play!"

3. Continue with the details of the party, including time, date and address. Examples are:

"Please join us / on April 12th, 2010 / at 4 o'clock in the afternoon / 123 Main Street / City, State"

"Party with us / June 19th, 2010 / 4:00 p.m. / Jane and John Smith's home"

4. Include a footnote in the right bottom corner of the invitation if you would like guests to inform you if they are going to attend or not. Choose "R.S.V.P" or "Regrets Only" and include a telephone number or email address.
