Ideas For A Sweet 16 Beach Party

When a girl turns 16, it is an important moment in her life and should be celebrated extravagantly. If her birthday occurs during the warmer months, consider throwing her a bash on the beach, with all of her friends. Does this Spark an idea?


Theme


Consider making the beach party into a luau by adding tiki torches, island music, Hawaiian food, fresh flowers, and hiring hula dancers.


Decorations


Transform the beach into an island luau by hanging twinkling lights around the tables and placing candle holders around each table. Finish the decorations by adding a floral arrangement of tropical blooms, including orchids and red ginger.


Entertainment


Look into hiring a few hula dancer from a local dance group to entertain the guests with traditional moves. Parents may also wish to hire a disc jockey to play both Hawaiian and popular tunes that the teenagers can dance to.


Refreshments


Serve the teenagers a variety of Hawaiian favorites, including roast pork, glazed chicken, fruit kabobs, vegetables and fried rice, and pineapple cream cheese pie for dessert. Consider serving the guests non-alcoholic versions of frozen favorites like strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas.


Activities


Besides dancing, the teenagers may wish to compete in contests such as a limbo contest to the Hawaiian music. Other teens may prefer to try building sand castles with their friends and have their parents judge the competition.
