Promotional flyers can be quick and effective ways to promote an upcoming event at your business or a performance you are involved with or just to bring more clients to your business in general. When you design a promotional flyer, there are elements that you should use to help the flyer stand out. The more attention the flyer gets, the more attention you will attract for the event or business that you are trying to promote.


Use a Headline


Create a headline that gives the point of the flyer in three or four words. Make the headline stand out by putting it at the top of the flyer in large letters. Try out several headlines on friends and family members, and then choose the one that was rated most effective. Make sure that the headline is memorable and can be easily linked to the event or business that you are promoting. The more clever the headline, the more memorable the flyer will be.


Pictures


Find an image that you can use with permission of the photographer, or take your own picture to place on the flyer. The picture can be used to show the product or event that is being advertised, or it can have nothing to do with the event and just be a way to get people's attention. Try not to offend anyone with your picture, and make sure that it is the kind of image that people of all ages can see. Place the picture somewhere close to the headline so that the picture and the headline can instantly grab the reader's attention.


Coupons


You can measure the success of the flyer by including a coupon on it that can be used at the event or business. Design the coupon with the thought that people will photocopy the flyer to use the coupon. This will help to broaden the reach of the flyer, but it could also cost you more money if you are not careful. Use coupons as free admission to your nightclub or a free sample of a product at your business that is provided by the manufacturer. Count the coupons you get back at the end of the promotion to see how effective the flyer was in bringing people to your event or business.
