Plan Food For A Baby Shower

Instructions

1. Ask the mother of the baby what type of food she wants at her baby shower. In addition, ask her what food makes her sick or nauseated. For example, if just the smell of certain foods make her sick, avoid those items. Having a miserable mother-to-be makes the shower dreary for all.

2. Choose what time of day the shower will be and the number of guests. The amount of food you need depends not only on the number of guests, but the time of day. If the shower is held during a meal period, guests expect to eat that meal. To keep the menu light, hold the shower in the middle of the afternoon.

3. Choose the type of food you want. Match the food to the shower. Serve tea cookies, finger sandwiches, fruit and crackers at a tea-themed shower. Serve tropical fruit, fruit smoothies and lunch meat at a tropical shower. Make a list of everything you need.

4. Look over grocery store advertisements for sale items about three weeks before the shower. Buy nonperishable items, like cookies or crackers, early.

5. Purchase perishable items the day before, or the day of, the baby shower.
