Your kids will love these island-themed snacks.
When children need a snack, it's important that they reach for something nutritious as well as quick. The less mess, the better, when it comes to snack food. Kids love snacks with a theme, and there's no better theme than island infusion. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Island Mix
Island mix is a twist on the more traditional trail mix.
A special take on trail mix, this crunchy snack includes goldfish, pretzel sticks, dried passion fruit and pineapple, macadamia nuts and yogurt covered raisins. Just mix them all together in whatever ratios you and your children like the best.
Cookie in the Ocean
Cookie in the ocean is a snack that actually looks like an island. First, make some blue raspberry jello, and put a serving on a plate. Then let your child decide what else she'd like on there. Whether it be a cookie in the middle as an island, graham cracker crumbs on one side for a beach, or goldfish swimming, this snack is sure to be a hit.
Fresh Fruit
You can cut up pineapple chunks and keep them in a sealed container in your fridge for up to seven days.
Fruit slices make a great snack for kids. They're sweet and easy to hold. Chop up a bunch of pineapple, kiwi, mango and papaya for a fresh fruit bowl with an island theme. It's one of the easiest ways to get children to eat their fruit.
