Mold Jello shots into Hawaiian themed shapes
Jello shots may be a fun drink for parties, but the traditional way of serving them, in a small paper cup, isn't very classy. The next time you throw a luau, pour the Jello shots into Hawaiian themed molds to make the shots more attractive and exciting to eat. Pineapple
You can't have a luau without a pineapple flavored beverage, or in this case, a pineapple shaped Jello shot. Keep an eye out for miniature pineapple Jello or cake molds. If you can't find a mold, use a pineapple cookie cutter to make the shots. Use a pina colada flavored Jello for the shot. Combine one cup of pineapple juice with 3 ounces of unflavored gelatin, then add a cup of coconut rum. Pour into the molds or cookie cutters and chill until set.
Classy Mango Squares
Capture the heart of the Hawaiian islands by cutting square shaped Jello shots and garnishing them with small chunks of mango. Mix a cup of mango nectar with 2 tablespoons of water and two packets of unflavored gelatin in a small saucepan. Heat gently to dissolve the gelatin, then add one cup of mango or orange flavored vodka. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan and chill overnight. The next day, cut into 1 inch squares and place a small piece of mango on top of each square. Serve in cute paper candy wrappers.
Fruit Molds
Let nature shape your Jello shots. Cut a mango in half and scoop out some of the flesh, then fill with the Jello shot of your choice. You can core a pineapple and then cut into slices. Fill the hollowed out core of each slice with a Jello shot. If you can get your hands on passion fruit or guava, try cutting in half, scooping out the seeds and flesh and filling with a tropical-fruit flavored Jello shot.
Hula Girl
Fill a hula girl candy mold with a Mai Tai Jello shot. Make the shot by mixing 1/3 cup pineapple juice, 1/3 cup orange juice and 1/3 cup sour mix with 1 packet of unflavored gelatin. Heat in a saucepan until the gelatin dissolves, then add 1/2 cup dark rum and 1/2 cup light rum. Pour into the hula girl molds and chill overnight.
