1. Get together with your neighbors, or a few of your neighbors, to organize a Block Party Committee. The committee will be charged to create flyers or canvass the other neighbors to gauge their interest, find out how they would like to contribute to the festivities (making food, bringing music, and/or contributing money toward games, etc) and make all necessary arrangements.

2. Once you've determined your budget, decide what kind of games you might like to have.

You can choose from:

- Inflatables (such as moon bounces)

- Carnival Games of Skill (such as dart throwing at balloons, throwing balls into a milk crate)

- Carnival Acts that amuse (such as trying to guess people's weight/age, a magic show)

3. Take into account the number of children that will be attending and try to tailor games to the age range and activity level of the children present.

4. Save money by forming a Game Committee that will be given the task of making several games from scratch. All you need is simple carpentry skills and some brightly colored paints.
