Create your own wedding invitations with free Microsoft Office templates.
With the cost of the average wedding constantly on the rise, many couples are turning to Do It Yourself (DIY) projects to keep wedding preparation costs as low as possible. Making your own wedding invitations on your computer instead of ordering professionally-created stationery can be a smart way to save money. By using the free templates available for Microsoft Office, you can save your wedding budget for other important items.
Instructions
1. Open the Microsoft Office program you want to use to create your invitation. Both Word and Publisher have available wedding invitation templates.
2. Click the "File" tab, then select "New."
3. Browse the included templates to see if one of those meets your needs. If you find one you like, select it with your mouse, then click "Create" or "Download" button to begin customizing it with your wedding information and skip to Step 7. If you want to continue searching, continue to Step 4.
4. Open a Web browser and navigate to Microsoft Office's wedding templates page (link in Resources).
5. Browse the available templates, and click on one you like to see its preview and download it.
6. Click the "Download" button, then review and accept the Microsoft Service Agreement. You may also be prompted to provide information to verify that you are using a genuine version of Office. If so, follow all instructions and enter all requested information completely and accurately. When the download is complete, a new document in the appropriate program opens automatically.
7. Replace the placeholder text with your wedding information. Depending upon the template you chose, a tutorial may start automatically to help you.
8. Save your invitation by clicking the "File" tab and selecting "Save As." Give the file a new name if desired, and save it to a location where you will be able to easily locate it.
