Plan Party Games For Senior Citizens

Planning party games for people of retirement age and older can be tricky because of their varied physical abilities. Stick with low key games when planning these parties. Cater games to coordinate with the parties theme. Senior citizens will have a great time partying while they visit with friends and play games that involve little to no physical activity.

Instructions

1. Play Bingo free of charge. Purchase inexpensive items as prizes. Prize items might include toiletries, home decor, card games or gag gifts like a bottle of geritol or bladder control pads.

2. Play name that tune. Have a CD with music from the seniors' teenage eras. Play a small segment of the song and increase the amount played until the song is guessed.

3. Have each person bring a baby picture or a picture of themselves as a teenager. Have everyone try to guess which picture belongs to which senior.

4. Play a trivia game Jeopardy style. Have the questions relate to specific time periods, movies, actors and other categories that the seniors will be familiar with.

5. Have a gag auction. Wrap gag gifts and have a lively auctioneer auction the gifts off for play money. Supply each person with play cash.

6. Hire a band and have a dance. Encourage seniors with limited mobility to dance in their chairs or keep the beat to the music.
