Ideas For Hawaiianthemed Centerpieces

Bring the beachy feel to your centerpiece.


When you think Hawaii, sand and surf comes to mind. Relaxing on a chaise lounge and drinking an exotic drink, you are transported into a a colorful paradise. You can capture the bright hues, textures and feel of the island paradise with items and foods. Artfully arranged, your selections can make wonderful centerpieces for a luau party. Sea Shells


Fill inexpensive tall glass or lucite vases with sand and shells of various sizes. Inexpensive playground sand works and many craft stores and wholesale suppliers sell huge bags of shells. For added sparkle, mix in silver or gold glitter that catches the light. Alternatively, colorful pail and shovels add a whimsical touch.


Fancy Fruits


Exotic tropical fruits that guests can take home and eat are perfect centerpieces if arranged in wicker baskets or small wooden crates. Place a pineapple in the center with the green head. Kiwi, mangoes and other melons can be arranged around the base. Think variety and color.


Leave Leis


Pretty flowered leis, plastic or fabric, stacked around a plastic hula girl or surfer dude are perfect centerpieces that can double as take-home favors. Double the fun by attaching a note that says "Aloha" to one of them. Whoever chooses the tagged one, gets a grass skirt or Hawaiian shirt as a present.


Coconut Candles


Cut coconuts in half and drain the milk. Fill the coconuts halfway with water and float votive candles in the center. Make sure the bottom of the coconut used as the candle holder is level and will not spill. If small children are in attendance or safety is a concern, use flameless candles.
