Send Electronic Invitations

An email invitation is not as personal and formal as a post-mail one, but is more timely.

In this day of instant communication through email, text messages and computer chatting, the conventional way of sending invitations is sometimes left behind. While an email invitation should not be sent for a formal event like a wedding, for a casual event an email invite is acceptable. A barbecue, girls' night out or a holiday party can be announced through email. This will make tracking down RSVPs a much quicker task as well, as the guests can simply reply to the email. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Insert the contacts you would like to include in the email invitation. For a large group, place the contacts in the "BCC" field instead of the "To," as this will hide the email addresses and likewise preserve guests' privacy.

2. In the subject field, place a brief description of the event, such as "Birthday Party."

3. Compose the body of the email, which can be as extravagant or simple as you like. Relay the pertinent party information, such as what the party is for, the location of the party as well as the date and time.

4. Add color and imagery. Highlight text by clicking and dragging over it. Change the font style, size and color by altering the specifications at the top panel of the screen.

5. Insert a photo or clip art. This might vary depending on your browser, but look for a button or tab that says "Picture" or "Insert." Navigate to the photo on your computer you would like to include or the clip art you desire.

6. Include an RSVP date and write "To RSVP please reply to this email." Sign your name to the email and click send.
