Select Outdoor Party Games
1. Hop to the finish line when you start a sack race at your next outdoor event. Provide all players with a large sack or pillow case in which they must stand and jump their way to the finish line. If you are expecting a large crowd, divide the competition into sections of 10 or fewer, depending on the number of bags and amount of space you have for the race.
2. Start a war between party goers by instructing them to wear white t-shirts and goggles for a colorful water pistol shooting match. Each player or team receives a water pistol full of water treated with a different color of food dye. You can make the rules to suit the party spirit by encouraging players to strive for the most colorful t-shirt.
3. Get wet with a water balloon fight. Especially on a hot day, this is one outdoor party game that is sure to cool everyone down. Fill balloons with water and divide the guests into teams. The fight ends when the last balloon is thrown!
4. Run a three-legged race by tying two contestants' right and left leg together with rope. This is a fun mother-daughter or father-son activity if you are hosting a family picnic. It is also a great team building exercise as it requires cooperation and communication to cross the finish line.
5. See how low they can go when you select a limbo stick. Enlist two party goers to hold either ends of a long stick or broom and invite each guest to make their way underneath it. Gradually lower the height of the stick to make it more challenging.
6. Select a strong piece of rope for a tug-o-war match. Form two teams on either end and see who can make the other team cross the center line first.
